A Little History

The "roots" of our company began as a Manufactures' Representative firm in 1952 - the Lynn McGUFFY Company.  Growth led to distribution of maintenance products and parts for all kinds of rotating equipment used in pipeline, oil and gas production, refining, chemical processing, power generation and marine applications, nationwide.

In 1980 McGUFFY began manufacturing operations as McGUFFY Systems. Beginning with a dry type engine air filter, McGUFFY simplified maintenance of large industrial engines. Throughout the 1980"s McGUFFY expanded manufacturing capabilities to include gas turbine air filter housings, exhaust silencers and eventually complete intake filtration systems and enclosures.

With the expansion of manufacturing and product lines, McGUFFY Turbine Services was formed to further support industrial customers with maintenance, inspection and overhaul services for gas and steam turbines.

McGuffy manufacturing operations are now based at McGuffy's 28,000 sq. ft. facility which includes 3 X 10 ton overhead cranes, and is located on 6 acres in Cypress, north of Houston, Texas.

The company was expanded in 2005 to offer Energy-related services, based at a 15,000 sq. ft. facility in Tomball, Texas, providing engineering design, fabrication and construction/commissioning of natural gas processing and treating plants, with pressure vessel and skid fabrication being performed at our Cypress facility.

McGuffy facilities hold ASME "U" & National Board "R" Stamps.

In 2007, McGuffy Power Systems began operations also based at the Tomball "clean" facility, packaging Allison 501 aeroderivative gas turbine power generation sets, typically for use in remote-location gas processing plants.

McGuffy Energy Services is the contracting company for oil, gas and power-related projects, including engineering Design (Process, Mechanical and I&E); Fabrication; and Field Construction and Commissioning.

In 2008, McGuffy Energy Services created as I&E/Controls contracting unit, with bases in Cypress, TX and East Texas, which provides electrical services to the Oil and Gas, Power Generation and Paper and Timber Industries and McGuffy's own skid and plant fabrication projects.
